AMEX Gift Card - What Type Of AMEX Is Acceptable?

Last updated on Jan 14, 2026

To ensure a smooth transaction when selling American Express (AMEX) gift cards on Cardnaira, it is crucial to know which specific types of cards we accept. Not all cards with an AMEX logo can be traded, as their nature and verification methods differ.

Here are the AMEX card types currently accepted on our platform and their specific requirements.

1. American Express Gift Cards

This is the primary type of card we accept.

  • Identifying Features:

  • The card front is clearly printed with the words "Gift Card."

    1. The card number begins with 37 and is 15 digits long.

    2. The funds are pre-loaded and the card is non-reloadable.

    3. Can be a physical plastic card or in the form of an e-code.

  • Requirements:

  • The card must be valid and unused.

    1. For physical cards, you need to provide clear photos of the front and back of the card.

    2. For e-codes, you need to provide a complete screenshot of the voucher.

2. "Serve" and "Bluebird" Reloadable Prepaid Cards

In addition to standard gift cards, we may also accept specific types of AMEX reloadable prepaid cards, such as "Serve" or "Bluebird."

  • Identifying Features:

  • The card will have the "Serve" or "Bluebird" brand logo.

    1. These cards are usually linked to an online account and can be reloaded.
  • Requirements:

  • When selling these cards, you must select the corresponding sub-category on our trading page (e.g., "AMEX Serve").

    1. Submitting a Serve card as a regular gift card will lead to a failed transaction.

What Types of AMEX Cards Do We Not Accept?

The following types of AMEX cards are currently not supported on our platform. Please do not submit them:

  1. AMEX Credit Cards

  2. These are linked to an individual's line of credit and are not prepaid cards, so they cannot be traded.

  3. AMEX Charge Cards

  4. Such as the Platinum or Gold cards. These cards have no preset spending limit but require full repayment monthly and cannot be traded as gift cards.

  5. Business or Corporate Cards

  6. These are cards issued to company employees for business expenses and cannot be traded.

  7. Traveller's Cheques

  8. Although also issued by American Express, they are a completely different financial product and cannot be traded on our platform.

How to Ensure Your Card Is Accepted?

  1. Check the Card Type: Before submitting, carefully check the front of your card for keywords like "Gift Card," "Serve," or "Bluebird."

  2. Select the Correct Category: On the Cardnaira selling page, be sure to select the category that exactly matches the card you have.

  3. Provide Clear Proof: Whether it's a physical card or an e-code, a clear and complete image is key to a successful transaction.

If you are unsure whether your AMEX card can be traded, please feel free to contact our online customer service. Send a clear photo of your card (please obscure some sensitive information), and our team will be happy to help you identify it.
